How Does the Pool Work?

You just have to pick the winners of the NFL games every week and assign point values (16 for the team that you "know" is going to win, 1 for the team you're not sure of).  Whoever has the most points every week wins $25.  We'll add up the points every week and whoever has the most points at the end of the year is the Champion.  We'll divide up whatever money is left from paying out. We continue total points into the playoffs and Super Bowl!

If you do want to play, then it's $20 for the whole year!  You don't have to keep paying every week, just make sure to get online and make your picks.  Again, we pay $25 weekly for 1st place of the week, and a couple years ago we were able to pay $10 for 2nd place each week.  Last year, we paid the season ending 1st through 6th place total point getters.  The more people that signup, the more we can pay.

Rules

1. All picks are due 5 minutes before each game.

2. No bitching about NOT making your picks. Not on the message board and definitely not me in person, via email, or on the phone.

3. Pool includes all pro games through the playoffs, including the "Big Game".

4. Entry fee is $20 due 24 hours before the 1st game of the NFL schedule. September 4, 2025 5:20PM PST.

5. Picks are always weighted from 16 down to 4/3/2/1 depending on bye weeks.

6. Ties go to the player with closest total points for MNF game. If two players have the same absolute value to the Total Points scored in the games, the players will split the prize pool for that week.

7. NFL ties are considered losses for everyone. Womp womp.

8. Players who do not make picks, will receive 0 points for the week.

9. IF YOU MISS THE THURSDAY GAME, YOU MISS A CHANCE AT YOUR 16 POINTS. If you miss Thanksgiving, you will miss your 16, 15, and 14.

10. I HIGHLY recommend to NOT test rule #1. Budget at least 10 minutes per week, put it on reminder, or schedule a meeting (with yourself) and make your picks. I am NOT the creator of CBSSports.com, so I cannot make sure the site is up and available 24/7.
